Enjoy pure nature
During your holiday at the Gasthof zum Schlern you will discover pure nature. Surrounded by lush green meadows, extensive fields and dense forests, our guesthouse is located at an altitude of 1000 m above sea level. Despite the advantageous location in the heart of nature, the Gasthof zum Schlern is also centrally located in the district of San Costantino. The centre of the village of Fiè is only 3 km away. Also, the famous Alpe di Siusi is just 3 km away and can be reached by bus, which stops directly in front of the house.
Discover the symbol of South Tyrol
From the Gasthof zum Schlern, you have an impressive view of Mount Sciliar in the Dolomites, which creates a stark contrast to the landscape of gentle hills. Due to its distinctive shape, the 2563-m Mount Sciliar is considered a symbol of South Tyrol. It is part of the protected Nature Park Sciliar-Catinaccio and home to the notorious Sciliar Witches. On a hike from the guesthouse to Mount Sciliar you can get to know the South Tyrolean symbol and to discover its secrets.
The Rio Freddo Waterfalls and the Alpe di Siusi are in close proximity
Towards the north and west, the highlands cross into the Isarco Valley and open the view onto the spectacular Rio Freddo Gorge. If you wish to explore gorges, mountains and pastures, San Costantino is the ideal starting point for hikes and other activities. The Alpe di Siusi, Europe’s largest alpine plateau, offers you not only a spectacular view of the striking peaks of the Dolomites. In bright sunshine, you may choose among many hiking trails, visit the popular winter sports area and experience other activities.
Fiè allo Sciliar offers wellness, culinary pleasures, and many highlights
Since the 19th century, Fiè allo Sciliar is a popular holiday destination for city residents and other travellers. Already back then, hay bath therapies were very widespread. Still today, you may take advantage of the soothing benefits of a traditional hay bath and experience pure alpine wellness. However, also culinary delights await you at the Gasthof zum Schlern and in the many mountain huts and taverns in the Sciliar area.
