Winter vacation in Fiè allo Sciliar / South Tyrol – pure skiing fun

In the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, there is one of the most popular ski areas in South Tyrol: In the ski area Val Gardena / Alpe di Siusi with 175 km of slopes, experienced skiers and beginners will certainly find a true paradise.
If you wish to experience pure nature away from the hustle and bustle on the slopes, you may embark on a ski tour in Fiè allo Sciliar in South Tyrol. Locals and holidaymakers particularly enjoy the tour from Siusi to the Alpe di Siusi. On remote trails, professional mountain guides accompany you through the deep snow, for example, to Sasso Piatto, Sasso Longo or from Passo delle Erbe to Mount Gabler.
Cross-country skiing on the Alpe di Siusi is a somewhat more relaxed experience. You may choose among more than ten cross-country skiing trails of up to 15.4 km (Joch Trail). Beginners may make their first attempts on the easy cross-country trail at the Ritsch Center.

How about a winter walk across the fabulous snowy landscape? The winter hiking trails on the Alpe di Siusi offer a total of 60 kilometres, guaranteeing plenty of variety and unforgettable impressions. Easy hikes take you from Siusi to Castelrotto, Castelrotto Hill, Tuff Alm, Laurin Lodge and Sanon Hut. If you are looking for a more demanding challenge, you may hike to Val Ciamin or Mount Bullaccia.
A snowshoe hike takes you even deeper into the winter paradise of snow and ice. At the Alpe di Siusi rental station you may rent snowshoes and take a tour below the Catinaccio. Unforgettable impressions are guaranteed on all snowshoes trails!

You may enjoy tobogganing on the lawn right in front of our guesthouse Gasthof zum Schlern. Nearby, you’ll fine several snowy and well-groomed toboggan runs, just above Lake Fiè and at the Tuff Alm. In the holiday region Alpe di Siusi there are another 10 toboggan runs, some of which can be reached by cable car and offer a toboggan rental station. Thus, you may look forward to plenty of variety and great fun during your winter vacation!
On the natural ice rink in front of the guesthouse, you may put your ice-skating skills to the test. Also, Lake Fiè turns into a natural ice rink during the winter. In the hut by the lake, you may rent ice skates and refresh yourself with a warm drink and a hearty meal. Alternatively, you may visit the public ice rinks in Castelrotto and Tires.
Indulge in romantic hours and enjoy a carriage ride through the South Tyrolean winter paradise. Haflinger horses will lead the carriage through the deep snow on the Alpe di Siusi and the sounds of the small bells on the bridle will accompany your jaunt. Sit back and relax, wrapped in a warm blanket, and enjoy the view of the beautiful nature and the snow-capped mountains!
